Adds target and self-cast spells as well as enchanted wearables. The effect of these applies a magical aura of various colors to the wearer, caster or target.

Spells will last for 3 minutes and then dispel automatically.

Included rings occupy slot 48 and will not show up on your character, while still allowing you to equip other jewelry.

Effects can be stacked to allow for multiple colors at the same time and their size will scale with the actor (so this can be applied to dragons and giants as well).

Background

The effect is a colored reuse of the visuals that accompanies Dragon Priests. As such, any textures that replace:

textures\effects\FXfireAnim04loop.dds

textures\effects\gradients\GradVioBright.dds

textures\effects\DarkSwirlStripParts.dds

will modify how the aura appears. Make it as HD as you want!

The mod uses scripts to apply the aura. The script is lightweight and event-triggered. The exact same method is used to apply the effect to Dragon Priests in vanilla Skyrim so it should be 99% safe (it is Bethesda after all).

FAQ

Q: Can you make these craftable?

A: No. Use AddItemMenu or the console.

Q: Legendary Edition?

A: No. But I have open permissions so feel free to port. Just give me credit and link back to this mod.

Q: More colors?

A: I find the existing colors sufficient.

Q: Safe to install or uninstall mid-game?

A: Install yes. Wait for all auras to dissipate before uninstalling to avoid potential script remnants.
